The church in America has changed dramatically in the past 25 years. One of the most significant changes has been the shift from proclaiming the Gospel in all of its purity and power to meeting felt needs – a spiritual therapeutic of sorts.
Dr. David Wells published five (5) titles from 1993 – 2008. In these works he predicted this shift. The fifth title is The Courage To Be Protestant. Indeed it requires genuine courage to resist the culture drift and do so with dignity and compassion. Those who preach must do so with unflinching power. We must address issues and Truth not attack personalities. Regardless of how we are treated we grant dignity to all people because they are made in the image of God.
